Driving from Blenheim to Kaikoura, and taking a chance on catching the boat with no tickets we did not dare to stop for a photo of the dawn. I took several photos whilst moving hoping one might be sharp, but none were.
Here is my pencil sketch of what I thought I saw, and the blurred photo that was my reference
Later: I think I am trying to say that the photograph doesn't have to be a good one to inspire me to try and draw it.

Did you have your camera set on "sport" or a motion setting?
I dunno - it was dark and the car was moving fast and my glasses were in my bag! If I was clever I could look at the info and tell you, but I'm not! Di do you really want to know?
