This is a small piece of family history - Molly's last tree. She loved trees and planted them where ever she went. We moved with her into a new house not long before she died. It was raw, flat ground, no shadows or dappled light. She sat in a chair and gave instructions as we planted more and more trees, saying we can always remove them later if there were too many. Knowing there was not much time for the trees to grow, off we went to find the biggest tree we could afford so she could look out the window and see the green. Delivered on a truck came a 23' silver birch and it was planted. She died over 30 years ago and a couple of days ago she would have had a birthday.
