A three day weekend away in the far north was enjoyable even though there was an equinox weather system the size of Australia passing over NZ. We were staying at a small sheltered cove called Raaki Bay just south east of Mahinepua Bay. Fortunately the sun shone most of the time and we were able to get out and about to explore the coast.
