Week 11 Gates. Downtown by the ferry terminal are these old gates built between 1913 and 1923. (http://www.hotcity.co.nz/downloads/hwredfence.pdf) For protection initially, they now commemorate the area where troops left for the WW1 & 2 and were reopened on Anzac day. It is nice to see them still standing and not removed in the name of progress.
