Week 18 Machinery. Winches are dangerous machinery on boats, horrific accidents when reported and helicopters are required to rescue sailors. The rope looks quite new here. This winch is on board one of the fishing boats down at the wharves.
oh no much worse than that, image wire rope breaking and madly coiling back and cutting bodies in half, frayed rope switching, winding round things and carrying them over board. Catching fingers when its winding in could be painful too. Ahh thanks for the comment. I don't like winches!

They're only a bit tricky if you've got the rope wrapped round your ankle when you turn it on!
